About two weeks ago, my lovely Lumberjack took flight off the roof of my roommate's car after a six hour session at Blackies. I was devastated to say the least. Now it is time to get another long board, and I had no second thoughts about going straight to Almond to grab an order form and start thinking/doodling what my next log will be.

Water drops.
My dad swam out and snapped a few shots of myself and the general scene at San O on this day.

An oily sea.
I paddle out.
GoPro mounted on the tail of my Almond Lumberjack. All it took was a fin plug, some some resin and fiberglass, and bam; a very solid GoPro.

Telephoto lens test
I must admit, it's quite convenient as a surfer to have a father who can use a camera proficiently. Case in point: after getting a new telephoto lens, he was equally as stoked to shoot with it as I was to surf and see the images. We both agreed the lens performed well. Fin.
The Lumberjack got salty this morning. More photos to come later today of the surfing that ensued...

One More
I'm still thinking about these waves from the other morning. Some days just stick with you. It was good having the Lumberjack in the water and my dad on the shore shooting.

Missing the greenery
Living in the heart of Southern California, it can get tough for me this time of year. The heat of summer has about dried up just about any living thing, the crowds have fully inundated the coastline, and fuel prices are up (which isn't good when you drive a Jeep). I'm missing the intense greenery and all-out beauty that is Santa Barbara during the springtime. This was the Lumberjack hanging around during a camp trip to El Cap in the middle of an exceptionally green spring.

Update on life
So I’ve been MIA lately. Here’s the latest scoop:
This past week I spent camping and surfing my brains out with two of my best friends down at Trails. Photos coming soon from that. I need to develop the film and scan it first. The trip was epic. We video taped damn near everything. I’ve got nearly 4 hours of video from the trip. Everything from the random BS in the campsite, hiking into canyons, cruising around on skateboards, even shower time was caught on tape (no homo). I’m going to get to editing that all this week (for real this time guys haha). Hopefully have some short little clips soon from that. But now it’s back to my regular work week schedule. On the plus side I’ve been playing a grip of shows lately, and it’s looking like I’ve got a drummer lined up for a show saturday night. It’ll be cool to play with a drummer for once. So for now it’s back to the grind for me. But there should be some good photos on the way. Until then, here’s a shot of my Almond Lumberjack in action.

Fin Take 2
Here’s a photo from a recent surf session at San O with the Contaflex I just acquired. I'm pretty stoked with this camera coming into my life. I feel like we've got a long life together ahead of us.

Almond Open House
Couple of fridays ago, Dave at Almond Surfboards & Designs in Newport Beach hosted an open house/Smart Brothers show/movie teaser premier at the shop. Great night.
If you haven’t heard of them, you need to check out the band The Smart Brothers. Great music. The shop was pretty packed considering it’s a pretty small place. But it was way worth it. Good vibes galore. Not to mention the debut of Almond trunks and the new Nosey Nate surfboard. All in all a good time. Definitely check the shop out when you’ve got a chance.

Home
Decided to take a moment to celebrate a new board (a 9'4 Almond Lumberjack) and a clean room (which doesn't happen often enough). This is where I call home.
